Responsibilities
- Efficiently answers multiple phone lines and directs calls as appropriate
- Responds to patient questions, including billing questions, promptly
- Obtains and verifies patient demographic and financial information; enters patient registration information into the EMR (Electronic Medical Records) accurately
- Ensures the chart and necessary forms are prepared for patient procedures
- Scans completed procedure packets into EMR
- Reviews completed procedure records for accuracy and tasks staff and providers for any items missed
- Reviews schedule for gaps and works to consolidate blocks. Informs Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager of any problem with the schedule (e.g., no shows, cancellations, delays).
- Collects patient copays and balances due
- Processes and prepares outgoing mail, including mailing materials to patients as needed, with attention to detail to ensure accuracy of paperwork
- Maintains inventory of office supplies, including toner for printers and copiers in endoscopy suite
- Keeps reception area neat and clean
- When directed, can initiate 911 call and direct EMS responders into endoscopy suite.
- Attends and contributes to staff meetings.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical office setting, with a working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Experience and/or training in medical office protocol preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Previous gMed experience preferred

- Occasional travel may be required to other local locations on an as-needed basis to back-fill for vacations, etc.
This position may offer the opportunity for the candidate to work remotely from their home. Training would be conducted onsite at the Endoscopy Center and the employee may have to work at the Endo Center location as needed. Candidates must reside and work in Washington State and due to unique city ordinances that impact employers, WAGI does not allow anyone to work remotely from Seattle, WA. The following conditions must be met for interested candidates in their remote location:
- Minimum internet connection requirements and surge protection in your home
- A home work environment that allows you to work free from distractions and sources of background noise and free of potential hazards including tripping hazards, electrical hazards, etc.
- Ability to secure and protect WAGI supplied computer, phone, and systems and ensure protection of Personal Health Information (PHI)
- Though this position provides the benefit of telework, it does follow a standard schedule based on the hours of operation
$18.06 – $22.31/hr
