Legal Assistant Job Duties


The Candidate will work closely with the IP Administrator, as well as with Patent Attorneys and other support staff. The Candidate will prepare and file various papers electronically with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). These filings will include new applications and all other prosecution work (Assignments, Declarations, IDS, Amendments, Terminal Disclaimers, Notice of Appeals, Appeal Briefs, Issue Fees as well as others not listed). Additionally, the Candidate will be required to prepare and report filings and invoices to our clients. Will handle some docketing. This position will mainly focus on U.S. and PCT filings however, experience with foreign filings would be helpful. Trademark experience is a big plus. Candidate might help with accounting collections. Might work on special projects with Managing Owner/partner.

  • · Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Office Knowledge


Knowledge and experience with general office software, such as MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel and PDF software. Must know how to type at least 30WPM accurately. Familiarity with databases and data entry is a plus. Appcoll, USPTO Patent Center, USPTO Assignment Center, EPCT. Must know how to format documents properly
