NFF’s goal is to become a world-class stewardship operation and grow philanthropic revenue from $25M-30M today to $70M-$75M in the coming years. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Operations, the Donor Services Coordinator works closely with the entire division of Advancement to realize and implement NFF’s ambitious fundraising goals. Most importantly, this position will help build that vision from scratch. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining donor giving information; creating and dispatching acknowledgements in a timely fashion, communicating with and stewarding donors; assisting with fundraising appeals; coordinating logistics for development events; and supporting the leadership team in all individual donor fundraising activities.


Candidate must be a strong multi-tasker, have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and research skills, work well under limited supervision and be extremely organized. Prior experience in a nonprofit fundraising position is preferred but not required. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for growth for the right candidate interested in nonprofit fundraising and donor relations.


Position Duties and Responsibilities: The Donor Services Coordinator will:

  • Process incoming gifts and ensure that gifts are accurately recorded
  • Assist with individual donor stewardship including prompt and timely acknowledgement letters, thank you cards, donor appreciation gifts, and other communications via phone and email
  • Track pledges and monthly gifts to ensure on-time payment
  • Assist with preparation of the annual report and other reports to donors as needed
  • In partnership with the Database Operations Manager, maintain data integrity in donor relationship management database, including updating donor records, compiling biographical information, data entry, and pulling reports/queries
  • In partnership with the Events Manager, support logistics and coordination for fundraising events, such as donor cultivation events and annual fundraisers
  • Other fundraising-related duties and projects assigned as needed.
  • Travel approximately 5%-10%.

Education and Qualifications: The NFF expects the Donor Services Coordinator to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience in fundraising operations with emphasis on data entry and data integrity
  • Familiarity and/or experience in conservation issues a plus. Passion for public lands and/or outdoor experiences a strong plus.
  • Experience with a constituent relationship management (CRM) database such as F&E or Raiser’s Edge is necessary.

Abilities and Skills: NFF expects the Donor Services Coordinator to possess:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and acute attention to detail (critical!)
  • Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team-this position will work closely with staff across the organization.
  • Ability to maintain regular check-ins with supervisors regarding workload, priorities, and any challenges or difficulties with assignments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common office procedures and software, including Microsoft 365 and Office Suite.

Location: The location for this position is flexible throughout the lower 48 states. This position is a remote/work-from-home position and requires reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.


Compensation: The NFF offers competitive compensation and benefits. The salary range for this position is $61,000 with the ability to grow to $70,200 and above.
