Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Trauma Registrar to join our healthcare team. The Trauma Registrar will play a critical role in the collection, management, and analysis of trauma-related data. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as proficiency in data management systems and databases. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate documentation of trauma cases to support quality improvement initiatives and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Accurately abstract and code trauma patient data using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records for trauma patients, ensuring all information is complete and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with medical staff to gather necessary information for accurate data entry.
- Analyze trauma data for trends and patterns to assist in quality assurance and performance improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with health information management regulations and standards.
- Utilize various databases and systems for effective data management and reporting.
- Provide support during audits by ensuring all records are readily accessible and compliant with relevant guidelines.
- Stay current with developments in trauma care, coding practices, and health information management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2+ years experience
- ICD 10 Course within the past 5 years
- Trauma Registry Course completion and a AAAM AIS Course Completion (MUST be 2015 or recent version)
- HIGHLY preferred certifications as CAISS and/or CSTR
- MUST be able to adapt quickly and begin working with minimal training
- ICD10 has to be trauma specific and within past 5 years (not expiring before or soon after the survey)
- 8 continuing ed hours for trauma in the past year.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $30.90 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
