Job Description

Looking for full-time OR part-time staff, member OR volunteer. Our data scientists love Jesus and are passionate about seeing access to Scripture provided in every person’s mother tongue. We thrive when we’re wrangling data and discovering insights from complex and disparate datasets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete course for data science training as well as continue education in data science.
• Ingests and processes data from multiple file types, APIs, and web scraping.
• Extracts insights from current data set in ProgressBible.
• Profiles data sets of prospective data contributors to assure proper alignment with ProgressBible.
• Coordinates with database engineers and infrastructure partners to integrate data analyses into production workflows.
• Collaborates with data visualization engineers and designers to make sure dashboards and other data-driven products clearly communicate key metrics.
• Advises the ProgressBible team on relevant statistical methods for tracking key metrics.
• Completes other ad hoc data tasks as determined by the supervisor.

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Ability to learn Python programming language, pandas, and basic supervised machine learning algorithms.
• Ability to work productively in group settings, as well as individually.
• Working knowledge of the Google Suite of products.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, or physics).
• Experience working virtually in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience working cross-culturally is desirable.

Training and Orientation

Orientation period (1 week) to familiarize with the ProgressBible team, gain understanding of its services offered. A mentor will be provided to support learning how to become an effective data scientist.
