Hometalk, the leading DIY home & garden platform, is looking for a creative and skilled Video Editor to join our team! If you have a passion for DIY, social media, and viral video content, this role is for you.
About the Role:
As our Video Editor, you’ll craft highly engaging, social-first videos that reach millions of followers across Facebook, YouTube, Instagram Reels, Shorts, and TikTok. Our content spans DIY home & garden, fashion & beauty, and food/recipes, so a love for hands-on projects is a must!
What You’ll Do:
Edit viral-worthy social videos that capture and maintain viewer attention
Create compelling hooks and maintain strong watch time performance
Stay on top of DIY & social video trends to keep content fresh and engaging
Ideate and pitch creative video concepts that drive engagement
Monitor video performance metrics (watch time, engagement, retention, CTR, etc.) and optimize content based on insights
Film and create your own DIY projects when needed
Develop themed video compilations around viral topics
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in editing social-first videos
Deep understanding of what makes social videos go viral
Passion for DIY – hands-on experience is a must!
Fast-paced problem solver and idea generator
Strong grasp of social media video trends and best practices
Salary & Benefits:
$50,000 - $60,000 (based on experience)
